How to #hashtag - Instagram Edition

Using hashtags on Instagram is a great way to grow users. Instagram is one of the fastest-growing social media networks and most successful businesses turn to Instagram for user reach.
Before we dive into details on how to use Instagram hashtags properly, let's have a quick understanding of what is a hashtag and how it works. A hashtag is a combination of letters, numbers, and/or emoji following the # symbol (No spaces). They categorize contents and make it more discoverable. A hashtag is clickable. When you click a hashtag on Instagram you will see a page will all post across the platform using that hashtag.
There are different types of Instagram hashtags and we listed some here that we think are the most popular;
Niche hashtags:
These are the hashtags used to describe you or your business. For Example: #websitedesigner #websitedesigncompany
Product or service hashtags:
These are words to describe your product or service. For example: #websitedesign #websitemaintenance
Event or Seasonal hashtags:
These hashtags are used to refer to real holidays or seasons. For example: #thanksgiving #christmasday
Location hashtags:
These hashtags are to refer to your location. Even if geotagging is an option it is still really wise to use location hashtags
Daily hashtags:
These are hashtags that are used for the days of the week. Each day of the week has lots of its own hashtag.
Acronym hashtags:
Acronym hashtags are very popular and used a lot. You may see a lot of them like, #OOTD, #TBT, #THB
Is it okay to use many hashtags?
Instagram allows you to use up to 30 per post. Many say it may look spammy so they use 6 or 7. Some also say 11 or more gets the best engagement. We recommend you use them all - unless you're happy with your current engagement. Use all 30 of them.
